noise

sound is stress;
silence, simplicity
too many people
need noise
to feel alive
get home, turn
tv on, open
their phone,
fill their lives
with chatter;
never allowing
the gentlest
of zephyrs
to blow all
that mental dust
across the vast
desert cavern;
that dirtbowl
behind their eyes;
& if lucky,
out an ear
to freedom
